Career Development
mentoring
On both a paid and volunteer basis, I have taken on the role of mentor, working with both young people and adults to support them in their creative and professional development. I currently work with Arts Emergency, a charity that offers creative industry mentoring for young people from working-class backgrounds.
digital Artist development
✦ N18 Programme
For The Great Exhibition of the North, 19 emerging artists from the North joined a ten-week programme to learn new skills, collaborate, and creatively respond to the event using digital technology. I was employed as a mentor, workshop leader, and event programmer.
✦ Creative Lab
The development programme for Manchester International Festival worked with a cohort of 20 creative practitioners, supporting them to utilise digital and new technologies in their practice and generate a series of creative responses to Manchester International Festival's themes and commissions.
I designed and led a workshop for the cohort focusing on practice development and the analysis of the meaning of digital in a creative and content context. Additionally, I had the pleasure of working closely with the cohort across two residential lab weekends in a pastoral management capacity.
✦ Faultlines Programme
I worked as the executive producer and cohort manager for FutureEverything on Faultlines, a talent development and commissioning programme for art in technology innovation. Developing a bespoke development pathway for each of the artists and leveraging commissions and opportunities with partners such as CityVerve, STARTS European Commission and SHIFT Cheshire east. Resulting commissions included SUPERGESTURES by Ling Tan, Down – A New Vertical Sovereignty Helen Knowles, By the Code of Soil Kasia Molga, Scanner, 108 Steps Matthew Rosier, Positively Charged Kasia Molga
innovation
Global Futr Lab was an international innovation and creative talent programme in partnership with FutureEverything and the British Council. The lab brought together innovators working in creative industries and tech worldwide to explore the relationship between innovation and infrastructure.
As a producer, I oversaw the programme, which included cohort exhibitions and talks and a series of skills and idea development workshops.
